Restaurant bar interior

Music shapes how guests feel, how long they stay and whether they can hear their server. Divine Audio Solutions designs and installs multi-zone sound systems for restaurants, bars, breweries and hospitality spaces across Central Florida, with controls your staff can use without a manual.

Background and foreground music

Background music sits beneath conversation and sets a mood; foreground music is part of the experience, as in a sports bar or a cocktail lounge later in the evening. Many venues need both at different times and in different areas. We design for even coverage at comfortable levels, so that no table sits directly under a loud speaker while another hears almost nothing. In most dining rooms that means more, smaller loudspeakers at lower levels rather than a few large ones.

Zones and daypart presets

A typical layout separates the dining room, bar, private dining, patio and restrooms into independent zones. Each zone can play its own source at its own level. Daypart presets change sources, levels and equalization with one touch, or on a schedule: quiet lunch, busier dinner, livelier late-night bar.

Avoiding zone bleed

The most common complaint in multi-zone venues is zone bleed: the bar's music spilling into the quiet dining room. We address it through loudspeaker choice and placement, aiming loudspeakers into their own area, and careful level balancing between zones during tuning.

Distributed low-impedance versus 70 V / 100 V systems

There are two main ways to wire many loudspeakers:

  • Low-impedance systems (typically 4 or 8 ohms) connect fewer loudspeakers per amplifier channel and deliver the highest fidelity and output, which suits feature bars and foreground music.
  • Constant-voltage systems (70 V in North America, 100 V elsewhere) use a transformer at each loudspeaker, so many loudspeakers can share one amplifier channel over long cable runs, and each one's level can be set with a transformer tap. They are efficient and flexible for distributed background music and paging.
Ceiling and wall-mounted loudspeakers in a dining room

Many venues use a mix of the two, and we specify the right approach for each zone.

Ceiling loudspeakers that disappear into the room

Many restaurant owners want the music without the hardware. For those rooms we can specify the DAS Audio DECO series, a family of ceiling loudspeakers designed to keep a low visual profile. DECO models use a frameless grille held in place by magnets, so the speaker sits almost flush with the ceiling and blends into the finish.

The range gives us options for different ceilings and layouts:

  • Flush ceiling models (DECO-5, DECO-6, DECO-8), in standard low-impedance versions or "-T" versions for 70 V / 100 V systems. They are white, and black grilles are available for dark ceilings.
  • Coaxial ceiling models (DECO-40-T, DECO-65-T, DECO-80-T), which can be set for low-impedance or constant-voltage wiring and come in black or white. With an optional DAS kit they can also hang as pendants for open or exposed ceilings.
  • A low-profile model (DECO-40-T-LP) for ceilings with little space above them.
  • A ceiling subwoofer (DECO-80-TS) for fuller low end without a visible box.
  • The OVI-12 pendant, which DAS groups with this series. It can hang, mount on a wall or fit in a ceiling, and DAS lists restaurants among its intended spaces.

We select the models, plan their placement and set their levels zone by zone as part of your design. Then we install and tune everything so the system matches your room and your hours.

Paging and announcements

Paging is routed to selected zones, kitchens or back-of-house areas, with music automatically lowering during an announcement. A paging microphone or phone-system interface can be included.

TV and game-day audio

For sports bars, we route TV audio to specific zones so that the big game can be heard in the bar while the dining room keeps its music. Audio from multiple screens can be selected by zone.

Control by app and wall panels

Staff choose sources and adjust volume from simple wall panels or a tablet app, within limits we set so levels stay in a sensible range. Advanced settings stay locked so the system remains tuned.

Patios and outdoor areas

Outdoor loudspeakers must be rated for Florida sun, humidity and rain. We aim them toward guests and away from neighbors, and set patio levels and schedules with local noise rules in mind.

Built for maintainability

Equipment is mounted in a ventilated rack with labeled cabling and documentation. DSP settings are backed up. When something needs attention, our service team can diagnose it quickly, often remotely if your network allows.

Our process

  1. Consult about your concept, hours and how each area is used.
  2. Site walk, including ceiling types, cable routes and rack location.
  3. Design you approve, with zones, loudspeaker layout and control plan.
  4. Install and tune, scheduled outside service hours where possible.
  5. Training for managers and staff.
  6. Service and maintenance plans.

Frequently asked questions

Can each area have its own music and volume?

Yes. Each zone can have independent source and level control.

Can the system change automatically through the day?

Yes. Daypart presets can be recalled by schedule or one button.

Will staff be able to turn it up too loud?

We set maximum levels per zone so the room stays comfortable.

Do you work in occupied restaurants?

Yes, and we schedule work to minimize disruption to service.

Can you add zones later?

Yes. We design with spare capacity where practical so you can expand.
